Zak vs. UWM JMC Deparment

Background:

Following Hamas' election victory, I decided to use the JMC's email reflector to educate people about what and who Hamas is and what they stand for. Other's have used the reflector to mail political articles, and so for the first time, I did to. The following is the original message I sent. In the next posts, I will publish the responses I have received so far.

"I don't think I've ever used this email list before to dabble in my own personal political concerns, but with the election victory of Hamas in the Palestinian territories, I find myself terribly depressed and concerned about prospects for a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians. If you don’t feel like stomaching the whole thing, here are some choice quotes for your reading pleasure/disgust:

It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine…” (In other words, Israel must be obliterated completely. Some might consider this a threat of genocide.)

This one is really weird: “The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said: "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari andMoslem).” (BTW, does anybody have any Gharkad tree seeds? I’d like to plant some so that I can hide behind one when the slaughter begins.-Zak)

“Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.”

“The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. Neither a single Arab country nor all Arab countries, neither any king or president, nor all the kings and presidents, neither any organizationn or all of them, be they Palestinian or Arab, possess the right to do that. (As related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).” (What about being lawyer or doctor and enjoying a juicy lamb kebab, i.e. enjoying life? –Zak)

“The Moslem woman has a role no less important than that of the moslem man in the battle of liberation. (Who said Islam is anti-woman? -Zak) She is the maker of men. (Duh!) Her role in guiding and educating the new generations is great. The enemies have realised the importance of her role. You gotta give Hamas some credit, though, by seamlessly weaving Islamic Jew hatred with traditional European anti-Semitism. Very cleaver. –Zak) And it goes on…

Today it is Palestine, tomorrow it will beone country or another. The Zionist plan is limitless. After Palestine, theZionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. (Expanding? Yeah, and that is why Israel has been ceding territory through negotiations and unilateral withdrawals since 1993, you dolts! –Zak)
