zak, you should HEAR some of the stuff hubby tells me about the pecking order in Afghanistan! I won't even put it publicly on a blog! Let's just say that I have my doubts about your extrapolation and have formed my own...
Just an aside, thought - those handcrafted dolls in Burqas he sent home were totally cool.
I was just saying that because religious people always say women can't pray near men because men might think about the women instead of god. So I was making a stupid joke about who MANY religious people from all religions refuse to see women as having the ability to be a holy or religious figure. I just fail to understand why females can't be religious leaders. But orthodox Judaism, Islam and apparently a lot of other religions don't think it's okay for women to play a leading role in religion. I think it's totally stupid.
